HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We can't believe how fast these two years have flown by with Claire. We decided for her birthday we would do everything she wanted to do since now she has a lot of interests/activities she enjoys. The science museum was closed today so we had to be creative. Here is what we did for Claire's 2nd birthday:

Up first a playdough session.(Thanks Sara, she loves it!)

Next up a trip to the mall to see a train exhibit. Unfortunately, the trains were only here for the weekend. We were all disappointed. Thankfully they had play cars for Claire to play with. She didn't know the difference.

Then it is on up to Bee-pa and Mee-ma's for lunch and a nap. She loves helping Bee-pa prepare food.

After nap it was off to Boo-pa and Mee-ma Bass' for dinner and play time. She loves walking her puppy.

And talking on the phone:

Finally the active two year old finishes the day with an episode of her favorite game show, Wheel of Fortune. She loves naming the letters.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR CLAIRE-BEAR!

Party Time!

Yesterday we had Claire's birthday party and what a difference a year makes. Last year she really had no idea what was going on and did not like the cake. This year so was so excited to see all her Boo-pa's and Mee-ma's in one place along with some more family. She was hilarious and put on a show for everyone through out the afternoon. Since her favorite show is Wow Wow Wubbzy we used that as the party theme. When Paul walked in the house with about 12 balloons and some with Wubbzy on them she was so shocked she dropped the food out of her mouth. Wish we got a picture of that one!

Wow Wow Wubbzy!

(Don't worry, it's Root Beer)

For the most part she was excited about the presents. She did however after opening a present want to play with it and not open anymore. We all thought of good distractions to then hide the presents from her.

She LOVED when everyone sang to her. This smile was plastered on her face and then she said, "More!", when we were done.

The cake was a hit too!

These boots are made for walking.

A few days ago I bought Claire some rain boots(we are in Eugene now), I thought she might like wearing them but I was unsure. Little did I know that she would never want to take them off. The great thing is that she can put them on herself. I don't have the heart to tell her she always puts them on the wrong feet. The only downside is she then wants to put her jacket on, her hat, and go to the car. It takes a few times of me saying "No car right now", for her to understand we aren't going anywhere. She still insist on wearing the hat and boots in the house. It is pretty cute.

Little Helper

Since we are finally in Eugene we are able to set up some baby items for the upcoming little guy. Claire has been very curious in all of the baby items. Especially the baby bath tub or "tubby" as we call her bath time.

Christmas Photos(Finally!)

I finally found our camera cord and so now it is time to catch up with what has been happening for the past month.

Christmas was wonderful and it was so nice to spend the time in Eugene.  Claire enjoyed the day even though she still didn't fully understand what was going on. She was more interested in the orange that "Santa" left for her in her stocking. It was a great day spent with family.

 Showing off her prized orange.

First Haircut

It has been a long time coming for Claire's first haircut. I think for the most part I have been too scared to do it myself and unwilling to take her somewhere to get it done. Somehow I don't think Claire would sit still in a hair salon. I finally got the courage to cut it myself and also got tired of how uneven her hair was in the back. We made sure she was completely distracted by putting on Wubbzy, giving her lunch, and putting her in a booster seat. She had no idea what was going on and overall it went pretty well for my first experience in cutting hair. I might open a salon, any takers?

We both look thrilled about what is going to happen.

Post haircut picture. Trying on Bee-pa's work boots. I'll try and get a better picture soon.

*Note: I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/New Year. I have no idea where my camera cord is so that is why I have yet to post any Christmas pictures. The massive search will start tomorrow and I'll try and get some pictures up by the end of the week!
