The kids were being cute a few days ago so I took a few photos:
I cannot get Claire to smile straight into the camera for anything. She is such a goober. Claire and Henry have really been enjoying Cameron more now that Cameron is more interactive and engaging. Here’s a bit of a update on the kids:
- Claire is all about Perler beads. That girl can sit for hours doing them and loves doing them with our neighbors outside on our front steps. Henry has also started to enjoy making them. We now have perler bead items out of our ears. I’m thinking of making an Etsy site to sell them. Any takers?
- Claire is loving T-Ball/Softball. She has improved so much and has had quite a few line drives at bat with coach-pitch. It’s comical watching a bunch of 5-6 year olds learn the basics of softball. Positions don’t really matter to them, it’s all about who can get to the ball first.
- Claire consistently surprises now with how old and relatively mature she speaks. We love having one on one time with her, so we can just let her lead conversations without interrupting siblings.
- With school ending for the year, she is really becoming so confident at school and loving her classroom. She had a bumpy start getting adjusted and has just grown up so much this year. Reading and math have just taken off and she loves music class. I’m hoping her confidence continues through the summer and into next school year.
- Henry also surprises us with how old he is now and how he’s acting. Storytelling is huge right now and his expressions with his hands and inflections with is voice are priceless. We always wondered if he was paying attention to what is going around him at school since we didn’t hear much from him. Claire is very direct with what is going on when you ask her; Henry is not as much. He will randomly start telling a story about school when you least expect it and not when we directly ask him.
- Tennis has taken off with Henry. Paul took him to the park up the road with tennis courts and Henry learned right away the correct swing and even can do his backhand swing. He wants to play all the time, but unfortunately he needs to be five to do lessons.
- Henry learned how to ride his bike. We could tell he definitely could if we just took off his training wheels. So we took them off and within a day he was cruising around on two wheels. Now I just need to get a trailer to put Cameron in so we can do family bike rides.
- Gymnastics is still a favorite of his. A few weeks back he had a “show” and while he was a little off because he felt sick, he had fun. The best part: he got a trophy. This kid has asked for a trophy ever since the fall, when Claire got one for soccer.
- Cameron is still such a happy little baby. Sad when he is alone, so happy when someone is around him. Especially the older kids. He just lights up when he hears their voices.
- Sleep is still a process. He is still up 1-2 times a night.
- Such a talker and coo-er. He loves having little conversations.
- If you give him the chance, he’ll grab your hand and not let go. He treats a hand like his comfort blanket.
