HAPPY BIRTHDAY HENRY!
Happy First Birthday, Henry! We can’t believe it’s been a year already, but by the size of him it’s easy to believe.
Here’s what we have done so far today:
Henry’s favorite food for breakfast-mandarin oranges(that kid can eat a cans of them!).
Playtime with no pants on:
Checking out the tiny bit of snow we had this morning:
Naptime:
The best part- presents and cake!
Claire was good “helper” when it came to opening the presents.
That’s Adrian, our amazing babysitter who allows Paul and I to feel human every once in awhile. We all adore her.
Henry loved the cake and was sad when we took it away; so he found other ways to try and get more:
Happy Birthday, little man!!
*For the record, the non-mylar balloons are the same ones from Claire’s party, three weeks ago. If every year I knew the balloons will last that long, I will be one happy person.

So Fashionable
Claire’s clothing choice for the store this morning:
Henry’s choice of accessories for today:
I think they have a good chance of having careers in the fashion industry. Maybe a brother and sister team?

Controlled Chaos
This morning we had a party for Claire’s birthday. We did a barnyard theme and Claire loved all the animals. It was fun seeing Claire interact with friends she has made over the past few months. She woke up this morning and wanted the party to start at 6am. We explained that we had to wait until her friends came over. Overall the party was pretty much what we expected: kids running around, not sharing, and on a sugar high. Pretty fun, but Paul and I are exhausted.
Claire waiting for her party to start at 6am:
After getting the cupcakes, Claire sat by them until people started arriving:
Daddy joined in the watching cupcakes:
Finally, it’s time to sing and eat the cupcakes!
Presents only lasted through one opening before all the kids were having fits over the gifts:
Henry was smart and slept through most of the party. He was fashionably late and able to enjoy toys without five kids around him:
*Sidenote: I put Claire in a pull-up for the party since I figured she would be too distracted to think about using the potty. She surprised me and used the potty throughout the party and stayed completely dry! When she would exit the bathroom she then had everyone cheer, “Yay!!” and clap for her. Our little attention grabber.
