Happy Birthday, Henry!

It’s crazy that Henry is already two, time flies! We had a pretty low key day for his birthday. Claire was in school in the morning so it was just me and him. I was planning to take him to the children’s museum but seeing that a stomach virus is going around and he is getting over an ear infection I decided to give him a break from all the germs. We just hung out at the house and he enjoyed the quiet playtime away from Claire:

After dinner we did presents and cake. Well, really just a cupcake that Claire and Henry could share. Paul and I are little caked out with all the birthdays so close together.

Finally, Snow!

This afternoon we finally got some snow! We (mostly me) have missed having snow fall at least once during the winter. The second the snow started to stick we got the kids ready to go outside. Claire was SO excited and Henry was not liking it AT ALL at first. As we were walking around he would say, “Oh no, tree!”, “Oh no, house!”, “Oh no, car!”, you get the point. While Claire was throwing snowballs with Paul, Henry was very happy being carried around by me.

We walked down and made a snowman with Claire’s friend Charlie:

A couple take-aways from this snow experience:
1) Paul’s snowball accuracy is pretty good, he hit my neck and the snow got down my back, he knocked my phone out of my hand, and Claire smack in the face. Of course, it was all by accident.
2) Claire was asleep by 7:28, that’s pretty awesome for her. Thanks snow.

Bounce House Chaos

Ever since Claire turned three she has been asking to have her fourth birthday at the “bounce house” or BounceU which is a huge place that has inflatable houses. Today her wish came true and we all had a blast. I was a bit nervous about the craziness that would happen with 15 four year olds. It really was a lot of fun seeing the kids being crazy in a controlled environment. Here are some highlights:

Waiting for the party guests to arrive:

Watching a “safety” video or at least maybe two kids watched:

Paul decided to join the fun with another dad:

Onto the next bouncy room:

Onto the pizza and cake:

It was so much fun watching the kids run around. Henry had a blast being with the “big kids”. We were exhausted all afternoon so we’ll see what Claire wants next year. Maybe libraries throw birthday parties…
