We went to Cannon Beach for the day and that is what Claire called our trip. She has been itching to go to a beach all summer long and it was such a beautiful day. We have a book called, “Goodnight, Oregon” that we read to the kids all the time. (It’s a series they make for every state). In the book it mentions Haystack Rock so when we told Claire that is where we were going she was very excited. We had a few nice hours playing in the sand and walking around. The expression on the kids’ face when they felt the water was priceless. No more Atlantic warmth!
I think the kids would have stayed there all day without eating if we allowed. We promised the kids that we would do an overnight trip in the near future so we could spend more time on the beach. Unfortunately with Oregon weather it’s so hard to tell if it will be a nice weekend!

Henry was loving all the kites, he would have followed this one around all day.
