La Vida Koch: Updates, Updates…

It’s been awhile since I’ve done an update on each of the kids. Here it goes!

C-Bear:

Little Miss Helper. Every week, her teachers send home a summary of how the week went with a sentence specific to Claire. It is always so kind: “always a helper”, “keeps everyone on task”; this week was: “the class CEO”. So basically all nice ways of saying bossy. Haha. But really, she does a wonderful job at school and we’re extremely proud.
Her new nighttime routine is to play with her doll house and sing/read books to her animal friends. This can last up to more than an hour even though she tells us, “only four minutes.”
She is such a kid now with her conversation style. It is very matter-of-fact and detailed. We love it, but it makes us sad.
Swimming lessons are going very well. She is loving swimming and can actually swim! Big steps for her considering all last year at school she never participated in the weekly swim.
Her favorite outside activity is riding her scooter still. Now she goes around and around our loop of a driveway.
Coloring is another favorite activity. She is happy sitting for over an hour coloring. It’s also relaxing for us!

H-man:

Chatterbox. At least for him. He is talking more and more everyday. He still loves phrases more than learning individual words. His little voice is so fun.
He loves school but is very clear on the days he attends. On school days he says, “I go school” on no school days, “No go school”. He is also very clear to the teachers who take the kids out of the car at drop off.
Related to school: he can now tell me about his day in his own version. He knows his teachers names and some of his classmates.
Footie pajamas with zippers are a no-go. I got the kids some new fleece PJ’s since it has been pretty cold here the last couple of nights. He goes to bed wearing them and wakes up in just a diaper. Silly kid.
He is becoming a bike riding pro. He can move around his tricycle pretty well.
Since Halloween is here, we have been going for walks to see the decorations. He is terrified. His go to phrases, “I scare Halloween”, I scare ider ebs”. Funny thing is he loves ghosts. We’ll see how Trick or Treating goes…
He is still such a happy kid. He really doesn’t get upset that easily(except with Claire).

Here are a few things we’ve done the last couple of weeks:

Henry loves his Elmo (“melmo”) and Claire loves playing pretend with babies. This is how they ate breakfast one morning. Henry sharing a chair with Elmo and Claire feeding Elmo in the baby high chair.
