Happy Birthday, Henry!

When I got Henry yesterday morning from his room and asked him how old he is, he said, “Eight”. We had to fix that. Now he says three. He was so excited when he came downstairs and saw the presents and banner.

Claire was excited too. Henry said, “That for me? I open presents now?” It was pretty cute. He opened his presents:

When Claire was at school he did exciting things like get his haircut and go to the store with me. He was very proud to share with people that it was his birthday. Although majority of the time people could not understand as he said, “It I irthay”. I had to translate. For dinner he chose IHOP because he loves pancakes. It was pretty much a disaster. Both kids were exhausted and did not want to eat their food. We came back and had cake. I had attempted to make his cake and got a really neat tie-dye one. When I tried to frost it/put it together it just crumbled to pieces. So a nice Harris Teeter one worked well.

This is where Henry started singing “Happy Birthday” to himself:

Here is a few reminders for us of what he is up to at three:

  • Still a cuddlier and a mommy’s boy. It’s sweet.
  • Loves dressing up in princess attire. Anywhere we go if there is a dress-up box he says, “I want be a incess!”
  • He is talking like crazy and conveying his thoughts wonderfully. It might not be completely audible, but he is talking.
  • Mr. Independent. “No, I do it!”, “I turn”, “I wanna try”, are his most used phrases.
  • He still asks who everyone’s name is. It creates some unintentional social situations.
  • He loves reading books and he calls them, “reads”.

In Claire related news: she had her five year old well-check this past week She is 43lbs (73rd percentile) and 45.5in tall (90th percentile). Both Paul and I were quite surprised at how much she weighs, she is such a string bean!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HENRY!
